Biography

My name is Rev. Timothy D. Munday (Tim for short), & after 20 years I returned to Scouting in February 2009.  I was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 425 (Koolau District--Aloha Council), which was composed of Scouts who were sons of US Marines & Sailors stationed at the Kaneohoe Marine Corps Air Station-Hawaii.

I held this position while I was assigned there during part of my military service in the US Marines.  My tenure as an Assistance Scoutmaster was from 1987-1989.  During this time, I was honored to have been chosen to enter into the Order of the Arrow (Na Makupni O Lawelawe Lodge No. 567).  I completed my Ordeal in the summer of 1988.

I continued my journey in the Order of the Arrow with Tamegonit Lodge 147-Bo Qui Chapter 7, which is part of the North Star District (Heart of America Council).  After 21 years as an Ordeal member, I obtained my Brotherhood on May 15, 2009.  This was conducted at the Theodore Naish Scout Reservation in Bonner Springs, Kansas.

Returning back to Scouting, I hold the following positions within the Pony Express Council (Ma-Has-Kah District):

  • Advisor (Venturing Crew 25)
  • Assistant Scoutmaster (Boy Scout Troop 120)
  • Cubmaster (Cub Scout Pack 121)
  • Pack Trainer (Cub Scout Pack 120)
  • Assistant District Commissioner
  • District Friends-of-Scouting Committee Chairman
  • District Popcorn Kernal
  • Council Committee Member-Relationship Committee

On July 9, 2009, I had the greatest honor of being "tapped" into the Tribe of Mic-O-Say; given the name of Honorary Warrior Hears No Thunder.  This privilege is one that I cannot explain with words, but one I hope I can live up to as I continue working with the youth and Tribesman of the BSA.

I attended Wood Badge Course C-42-09.  Being a member of the Owl Patrol, I learned valuable skills of being a Scouter throught the Troop method.  I recieved my "beading" on April 15, 2010 at Camp Geiger (St. Joseph, Missouri).

Working with young men is an exciting adventure for me.  And for this reason, I am also a BSA Merit Badge Counselor for the following merit badges:

  • American Heritage
  • American Culture
  • Citizenship in the Community
  • Citizenship in the Nation
  • Citizenship in the World
  • Crime Prevention
  • Fingerprinting
  • Law
  • Photographing
  • Public Speaking

I've received my certification as a Camp Chaplain through the BSA National Camping School; held at the S-Bar-F Ranch (Knob Lick, MO).  I attended and completed this extensive school on May 29, 2009.

Besides the above, I'm a Shooting Sports for Cub Scouts Instructor.  This includes teaching Cub Scouts the skills, as well as how to safely shoot BB guns, bows & arrows (archery), sling-shots, and catapults.  I am also a certified National Rifle Association Shotgun Instruction, Pistol Instructor, & a Range Safety Officer.

Prior to my leadership positions in Scouting, my only other affiliation was when I was a Cub Scout in the mid-1970's.  I achieved the rank of Bear while being a member of Den 8-Pack 23 of Trenton, Missouri.  Again, this Pack is part of the Ma-Has-Kah District--Pony Express Council.

I hold two types of employment.  I am a Criminal Investigator for the State of Missouri/MSPD.  But more importantly, I am the Pastor of the Chula Baptist Church-Chula, Missouri.  I am a licensed & ordained Southern Baptist Minister.

I am married to Cyndy, and we have a total of five children:  Clinton & Amanda (who are twins-23 years old), Nicole (21 years old), Annie (18 years old), & Olivia (12 years old).
