Troop 21 Ten Mile Bike Ride

St. Joseph, MO – September 27, 2016 - Just days after returning from our adventurous cave crawl Troop 21 met up again for more physical fun.  6 adults and 20 Scouts met at the church to take on a 10 mile bike ride.  We met early to air up tires, make minor repairs, oil up squeaky bike chains and get set up for the ride. At 6:15 we took a final headcount, buddied up and started our ride.

We rode in single file along the street portion of the ride until we passed Bartlett Park and got on the St. Joseph bike trails.  The scouts had great enthusiasm as they pedaled.  It was a perfect fall day with cool temperatures that made the ride very pleasant.  We all rode along the trails, some very fast and others more leisurely.  A couple of times along the path we met up as a group briefly before dispersing again.  Some parts were smooth sailing and coasting downhill.  Christian even clocked himself going 22 mph down a hill! Those parts were fun! It started to get dark upon our return so we were glad we brought lights.  About 2-2 1/2 hours after we left the Church everyone was back feeling pretty empowered that they made it.

One thing Troop 21 gives is ample opportunities to push oneself mentally and physically.  One more opportunity taken and one more challenge completed! Patches for completion will be awarded.

Ride and Rock It, T-21!
