Troop 21 Land Navigators

Bonner Springs, KS - After weeks of map and compass training and refresher review, Troop 21 scouts and leaders took to the hills with maps in hand and points to find.

The troop camped at Camp Naish Scout Reservation in Bonner Springs, KS.  Always a nice place to camp and very friendly Campmasters.  The scouts spent the night "spotlighting" spiders and checking out their spooky glowing eyes.  The camping area we stayed at seemed to be ground spider central making for some fun at night.  The next day it was off to the Shawnee Park to tackle the Possum Trot Orienteering Trim Course.  The troop did an excellent job in finding points as a troop and then later as separate patrols.  The wide open fields and hilly tree lined ridges made for a varied orienteering experience for all.  A great way to practice an important scout skill, get some exercise and enjoy the great weather.
