Troop 21 Youth Leaders heading to National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)

Oskaloosa, KS - A troop committed to youth training and learning serves the unit and prepares for it's future.  National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is a full week of focused leadership training for youth leaders.  Troop 21 is committed to ensuring our scouts have the best possible tools and necessary skills to lead young men into the future of scouting and beyond.  Along with annual Troop Leadership Training (TLT) conducted in the winter of each year, Troop 21 encourages and selects scouts in direct leadership positions to attend NYLT the following Spring each year.  This year, Troop 21 will have one scout serving on the NYLT Youth Staff as a Team Leader and four other scouts attending the course as participants.  All current Patrol Leaders in the troop along with a member of the youth leadership patrol will be attending the 2012 NYLT Class at Camp Jayhawk, Falley Scout Reservation from May 27 - June 1st in Oskaloosa, Kansas.  With a total of five NYLT trained youth leaders, the troop is exceptionally prepared to execute the Be, Know, and Do of youth leadership.  Congratulations to our 2012 NYLT Staff and Participants.

Tonie Jones, Scoutmaster.
