Troop 21 Goes Cave Exploring

Camdenton, MO -  Troop 21 scouts and leaders enjoyed a weekend of caving and hiking in the beautiful rolling hills of the Missouri Ozarks.  Camping at Arrow Rock State Historic Site was the start of this memorable campout.  After a hike to see the historic town, the troop finished off the night with a night hike along the park trails to the edge of the Missouri River where a historical river landing once stood.  With an early departure the following day, Scouts were off to Camdenton, MO to spend a day learning about the formation of caves during a nature trail hike and then explored Bear Cave where scouts and leaders got out the flashlights and got down and dirty in the cold and wet underworld of cave exploring.  Afterward the scouts went on the guided tour of Bridal Cave taking in the natural beauty of this Missouri treasure.  Troop 21 spent the rest f the day hiking and relaxing in the icy cold springs of Ha Ha Tonka State Park.  The troop also met with fellow Geiger Campers from Jefferson City, Missouri.  On the road-trip back, the Troop refueled at our favorite all you can eat pizza buffet in Warsaw, MO. Great times and fond memories for all.

Tonie Jones, Scoutmaster.
