Troop 21 has been continuously serving the youth of Northwest Missouri for over 75 years.  First chartered in 1921, Troop 21 began serving the youth of NW Missouri and bringing the ideals of scouting to youth in our community.  After a short  remission during the Great Depression era, Troop 21 was re-chartered in 1941 and has been going strong ever since.

We are committed to delivering the core values of Scouting in our program to all young men ages    10 1/2 through age 17.  Upon reaching the age of 18, we encourage our youth to continue there service as Adult Leaders in the Troop.

Troop 21 meets every Tuesday at 7pm, at Wyatt Park Christian Church, St. Joseph, MO.  The Scout entrance is at the NE corner of the building under the Troop 21 sign.  We meet downstairs in the Scout Area.

Scoutmasters Message:

Troop 21 is a very active troop with the best year around outdoor activities and plenty of opportunities for your scouts to learn, lead, and advance in scouting.  Our Troop is boy lead and uses the patrol method in the operation of our unit.  If you're looking for a great troop to join, we welcome new scouts to stop by for a visit.

Adult Leadership: Troop 21 has a dedicated and trained staff of adult leaders who strive to provide Troop 21 with the administrative, logistical and leadership foundation for a successful unit.  We are always interested in speaking with potential new adult staff to harness everyone's strengths for the betterment of the Troop.  Our leaders are BSA Trained and many have past scouting experience and past leadership experience in Boy Scout Troops as well as Cub Scout Packs.  Former Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Wood Badge Trained adults, Commissioners, National Camping School trained, BSA COPE and Climbing Instructors, Powder Horn High Adventure trained, Eagle Scouts, etc. make up our adult committee as well as highly motivated adults new to scouting. This combination of adults with varying experience makes for a dynamic and successful team of leaders to support the youth leaders and scouts of Troop 21.

Our youth Scout Leaders are trained in Troop Leadership Training (TLT) with almost all Senior Scouts having attended and graduated from BSA National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT).

Troop 21 youth and adults are the most highly trained in the Council.  The commitment to training by the unit greatly enhances the capabilities of our leaders, it's programs, and provides for a well run and exciting scouting experience.

If you're a Scout, potential Scout, or transitioning Cub Scout looking for a Boy Scout Troop to join, come by for a visit and we'll be happy to discuss the benefits of scouting and being a member of what we believe to be one of the best Troops in the Pony Express Council.

Current troop size:  30 youth boy scouts / 16 adult leaders (April 2015)
