Council Revises Unit Account Procedures

The Pony Express Council has revised the procedures for unit accounts kept with the Service Center.  Units are encouraged to carry an account at the Service Center.  Money on deposit there can be used to purchase items at the Scout Shop, pay camp, activity, registration or Boys’ Life fees, etc.

Accounts may be opened by any unit within the council with a deposit of $25 or more.  There is a “Unit Council Authorization Form” (similar to a bank signature card) that must be submitted when opening an account.  It designates who may order withdrawals or payments from the account.  Another form “Unit Accounts” explains the use of the account more fully.  Both of these forms are available on the website at the Unit Information Page

Another form has been placed on the website for committee treasurers entitled “Unit Finance Fact Sheet”.  Units are encouraged to look at these and other related forms at the above website page.
