Several items have been identified for change within the Scouting program.  These changes were developed through a program review and assessment that clearly identifies the elements that are appealing, exciting, and culturally relevant to today‚Äôs youth and families.  The following is a brief preview of what is to come.



                                               Cub Scout - changes for 2015

      • Oath and Law (changing to Boy Scout Oath & Law)
      • Arrow of light will no longer require earning Webelos
      • Activities - More active, more aligned with aims/mission
      • Advancement - Simplified
      • Academics & Sports program discontinued (05/15)
      • Current immediate/elective recognition devices replaced
      • One Den Leader Guide per rank




   Boy Scouts - Changes for 2015

        • Scout becomes a rank
        • Service at all ranks
        • Health eating/habits
        • Physical fitness at each rank
        • Outdoor ethics
        • Weather safety, risk assessment & mitigation
        • Duty to God incorporated in requirement to show Scout Spirit




    Venturing - Changes for 2014 (May)

          • Oath & Law (Changing to Boy Scout Oath & Law)
          • New core Venturing program & recognition
          • New resources
          • Enhanced youth training
          • Split advisor vs. committee training
