Tribal Council Positions

Directing Medicine Man

Appointed by the Council of chieftains. The person charged with the overall responsibility for leadership and direction of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He is specifically responsible for the directing of summer ceremonials on the Reservation. He supervises and guides the Tribal Council activities.

Presiding Medicine Man

Appointed by the DMM. The PMM is responsible for the administration of the Tribal Council, presides at all meetings of the Tribal Council and appoints all Tribal Council committees. The PMM also works closely with the DMM on matters of Tribal policy. The PMM is responsible for the administration of all off-season programs and special events, and assumes additional responsibilities as required by the DMM, including the performance of the duties of the DMM in the event the DMM is unable to discharge them.

Recording Medicine Man

Appointed by the Directing Medicine Man. The person responsible for all records and archives of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He is specifically responsible for advancement records, minutes of all Tribal Council meetings, and all other written records of the Tribe as required by the Directing Medicine Man. He assumes additional responsibilities as required by the Directing Medicine Man.

Presiding Sachem

Appointed by the Directing Medicine Man. He presides at Sachems’ meetings and coordinates Friday morning counseling. He assumes additional responsibilities as required by the Directing Medicine Man.
