Ma-Has-Kah Commissioner Staff

Ma-Has-Kah District Commissioners Staff

Welcome to the Ma-Has-Kah District from all of the Commissioner Staff!  How can we assist you?

The Commissioner Staff serves as a liaison between the Boy Scouts of America, the local Council, and the local units.  Our role is to assist units with whatever is necessary to provide quality personnel and a quality program to the youth of our communities.

Unit Commissioners are utilized in many ways including but not limited to promoting membership retention and growth, program planning, budgeting, leadership support and training, fund raising, goal setting, and rechartering.  A common analogy is that a Commissioner's visit is in many ways like a well baby / well child check up with your family practitioner.   Most of us don't want our initial contact with our doctor to be when we are unhealthy or in a potentially life threatening situation.  The same is true with Commissioners.  Let us assist you before situation become critical.

We are continuously in the process of up-dating the commissioner assignments.  If you know of someone that has been assisting your unit that would make a good unit commissioner, or if you are currently registered as a unit commissioner and would like to be reassigned or withdrawn, please contact Jeremy Hall or me.  Also, if you are registered as a commissioner and are currently assisting a unit that is not listed correctly, please contact me.

As this process is continually being up-dated, please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or need assistance.  Please feel free to contact the unit commissioner listed for your unit, our District Executive Jeremy Hall, or myself.

In closing, from the numerous visits I have had with leaders, parents, and  Scout over the years, my best advice would be....

  1. Don't lose your focus; remember why you're / we're here - to serve youth.
  2. Be Prepared and Do Your Best!
  3. Have Fun!
  4. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff..."
  5. Play Nice!
