Venturing is a new comprehensive co-ed program tailored to the needs of young men and women. Venturing is sponsored by organizations such as yours and the Boy Scouts of America. It is open to all young men and women between 13-20 years of age.
The Venturing program is unique because it utilizes extreme outdoor adventure as a method for building character, peer-to-peer bonds, and interdependence.
Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences and leadership opportunities to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
The program is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations within their communities. Local community organizations, professional organizations, churches, clubs, and civic organizations sponsor Venturing crews by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community.
