I am very excited to be involved with scouting once again, serving as the Venturing Chair/Crew Commissioner for the Kanza district.

Following a 27 year absence from Scouting, while serving in the U.S. Army,  I'm glad to have the time and opportunity to "give a little something back" to Scouting.

I earned my Eagle award in 1975 from Troop 93, First Christian Church in Atchison, KS.

I entered military service immediately after high school graduation in 1976 where I proudly served with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii until 1979.  I immediately joined the Kansas Army National Guard, where I served until my retirement in 2002.  During my military career I've earned many awards and decorations and served as both a commissioned and non-commissioned officer before retiring as Operations Sergeant/First Sergeant in July 2002.

I graduated from Highland Community College with an Associates of Arts degree in 1980 and Missouri Western State University  with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Corrections in 1983.

I attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center immediately following college and worked at the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 3 years before returning to work with the Army National Guard full-time.

I also worked as a Defense Contractor at the National Simulation Center and later Department of Defense Civilian at Ft Leavenworth.

I am active as a member of the Boy Scouts of America, American Legion, National Infantry Association, and Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the U.S.

My hobbies include fishing, camping, boating.

My wife, Sue, and I have been married over 30 years with twin daughters, Jennie and Joanie.  They're both married now but have blessed us four grandchildren.

I am very eager to help improve the posture of the Kanza district's Venturing program and increase the number of quality Venturing Crews in our areas cities and towns.
