2010 Pony Express Council Eagle Recognition Dinner

On Saturday, February 27, 2010 the Pony Express Council will recognize Scouts who in the past year have attained the pinnacle rank in the Boy Scouts of America.

Each Eagle Dinner has a Class Honoree.  The 2010 Eagle Class Honoree is Gaylon Whitmer, a

long time dedicated Scouter from Stewartsville, Missouri. For more information regarding Gaylon click here.

The 2010 Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner will be held at:

Grace Evangelical Church

5103 South 50th Street

St. Joseph, MO  64507

Social hour will begin at 6:00PM. Dinner will begin at 7:00PM.

The Recognition Dinner is free of charge to all 2009 Eagle Scouts. Scouts from the Pony Express Council will receive a special invitation to the Recognition Dinner by mail soon. 2009 Eagle Scouts from OUTSIDE of the Pony Express Council that camp at Camp Geiger for long term summer camp are also invited to attend and should contact Cody Boswell via email at [Click for member's page].

As is the case with any event of this kind, it cannot be done without the generosity of the general public. Please become an Eagle Scout sponsor. This can be done whether or not you plan to attend the dinner for $35.

Guests, which include parents, family members of the honored Eagle Scouts, or spouse/guest of a sponsor, are encouraged to attend for the discounted price of $22 per person.

The registration deadline for the Eagle Recognition Dinner is February 13, for all sponsors and guests.  Online registration will be available on this site by January 15.  Mail-in registration forms

are available at the Council Service Center

This is the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America and so no Eagle Scout who attained this rank in 2009 will want to miss this once in a lifetime event.

Sponsor/Guest Registration

Sponsorship of a 2009 Eagle Scout covers the cost of the meal, defrays the cost of a small gift presented to each 2009 Eagle, and provides overall financial support for the Eagle Recognition Dinner and the Pony Express Council, BSA.

The cost to sponsor one 2009 Eagle Scout is $35.00

• A sponsor may attend the dinner if they choose.  Please designate when you register if you are a sponsor that is attending the dinner or a sponsor that is not attending.

The cost to attend the 2009 Eagle Dinner as a guest is $22.00

• If you do not wish to sponsor, but would like to attend as a guest, this option is for you.

• Mail in the registration form to the Council Service Center with the appropriate information and payment.
• You may also call the Council Service Center to register.
