INVITATION TO ADVENTURE
Camp Farwesta
Stewartsville, Missouri
March 9th, 10th, and 11th
In Honor of Lord Baden-Powell and the Boy Scouts of America Join us for the 2012 Spring Camporee.
Would you like to do something different this year? Well, here is your chance. We will be re-enacting The Relief of Mafeking. (During the night, no less.) This is the battle that made Lord Baden-Powell famous. You will be allowed to train a few weeks before you check into your new command and on Friday night you will be called to duty.
What a great way to reintroduce a scout that has stopped participating in troop functions and remains unregistered. There will be a special prize for the Unit who brings the most number of lost scouts.
Hone up your skills as a Patrol. Everyone has a particular job to do. Can you work silently? Mark the date on your calendar and plan to attend.

those attending. Don’t forget to bring those District Boy Scout/Venture age guests. More than five guests could win you a special prize. WEBELOS II can participate on Saturday during the Scout Olympics, but only if they have two deep leadership. Try to include them in your preparation of patrols. Please identify your Senior Patrol Leader.
* Check in will start at 5:00 pm on Friday. Please plan to eat before check-in or bring it with you. You will be camping in a designated area that will be assigned at the check-in station just inside the gates. You will have until noon on Saturday to finish your gateway, which can be started in the weeks before the Camporee. There will be site inspections and your “home built” gateway along with any “period” orientated constructions will contribute to your score.
* There will be a mission briefing in the camp theatre at 8:00 pm on Friday night followed by a final prep for Leaders and Senior Patrol Leaders.
* The main competition for this event will take place on Friday night from 9:00 pm until 2:00 am on Saturday. Therefore, take advantage of the “Sleep Late” on Saturday morning. Brunch will be on your own with Scout Olympics starting at noon and ending at 5:00pm. Every Scout is to participate in these events. The events will center on basic scouting skills and team building events. There should be no Scout left in the sites at session time as this is inspection time.
Dinner will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Campfire and awards will start at 8:30 pm followed by the beginning of a great night of funny jokes, skits, and music. Leaders are encouraged to participate.
