WATCH for people directing you to parking and drop off points - everyone will have to meet and walk up the trails into the Day Camp Area.
Walking leaders need to be prepared to WALK - trails and to all program areas - there will be NO transportation available for leaders around the Day Camp area.
NO VEHICLES will be allowed in the Day Camp area on Friday or Saturday - all scouts and leaders will have to walk the trails up into the Day Camp area and will have to park in the
designated parking areas for Day Camp.
You are welcome to bring equipment or BBQ’s and place them in the Den Home area on
Thursday night - after Roundtable. There will be a designated cooking area for any BBQs and they will ALL have to be placed in that area. Any equipment you bring on Friday will have to be placed in the designated staff vehicle and taken in by the designated staff member. Please make sure any equipment you leave or bring on Friday or Saturday is CLEARLY marked with NAME and PACK #.
Day Camp is RAIN OR SHINE - Be prepared to get WET. Also if it is hot, scouts may have the opportunity to get a little wet and cooled off at one of the stations, be prepared for that as well.
Trails will likely be WET and MUDDY - Be prepared!!
BUG SPRAY, BUG SPRAY, BUG SPRAY!!!!!
SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN!!!!!
This is a state park - so anticipate LOTS of Sun and LOTS and LOTS of bugs that bite!!
GOOD WALKING SHOES - are also a necessity!!! Stress with your leaders and scouts - sandals are NOT appropriate foot attire for this event!
We will have a Trading Post - with chips, candy and water - as well as craft items and other items from Day Camps past
PACK SACK LUNCHES - or otherwise plan something for lunch - the trading post WILL NOT have substantial items for lunch - plan on bringing your own.
Final Note:
Please leaders and parents - make your Scouts aware - this is a State Park - and by State Law - NOTHING natural to the State Park can be removed. This means, no flowers, trees, leaves, bugs, etc can be removed from the State Park and should be left in their natural habitat. Embrace the saying “Leave only footprints, Take only photographs.”
