Crossed Arrows Commissioners Staff

Welcome to the Crossed Arrows District from all of the Commissioner Staff!  How can we assist you?

The Commissioner Staff serve as liaisons between the Boy Scouts of America, the local Council, and the local units to helping to develop quality personnel and programming to the youth of our communities.  Commissioners are utilized in many ways, including but not limited to, promoting membership retention and growth, program planning, budgeting, leadership support and training, fund raising, goal setting, and rechartering.  A common analogy is that a Commissioner's visit is in many ways like a well baby / well child check up with your family practitioner.   Most of us don't want our initial contact with our doctor to be when we are unhealthy or in a potentially life threatening situation.  The same is true with Commissioners.  Let us assist you before situation become critical.  Please feel free to contact the unit commissioner listed for your unit, our District Executive Bryan Davidson, or myself for assistance.

As I said, the Commissioner staff is here to assist.  If you or someone you know is interested in knowing more about Commissioner service or are interested in becoming a Commissioner, please let Jeremy or me now.  If you have concerns, please let us know.

In closing, from the numerous visits I have had with leaders, parents, and  Scout over the years, my best advice to all Scouters would be....

  1. Don't lose your focus; remember why you're / we're here - to serve youth.
  2. Know the Program; Be Prepared and Do Your Best!
  3. Have Fun!
  4. Don't  Sweat the Small Stuff..."
  5. Play Nice!

Have fun!  Thanks for your service.  You'll reap as many benefits as the youth.

Yours in Scouting,

Lisa Clark, Crossed Arrows District Commissioner
