Trust Funds and Endowments

The Pony Express Council has many options available for you to make a planned gift. Six different funds have been established to allow planned gifts that will have a long lasting impact on the future of the council.

A Heritage Society has been established to recognize all donors who give a minimum gift of $1000 to any of the council's trust funds. An annual Heritage Society event is conducted to recognize all new members to the Society and promote participation of new donors.

The Boy Scout Trust Fund

This fund was established to provide annual operating fund dollars for the council. The principal of the fund is invested and a percentage of the interest earned is provided quarterly to help cover the operating costs of the council.

The Service Center Trust Fund

This fund was established to provide the financial support needed to help cover the costs of operating the Service Center. The principal of the fund is invested and a percentage of the interest earned is provided quarterly to help cover the operating costs of the Service Center.

The Dog Soldier Trust Fund

This fund was established to help cover the ongoing costs of operating the honor camping society of the council known as the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. The principal of the fund is invested and a percentage of the interest earned is made available for use as needed for the operations of Tribal programs and activities

Camp Geiger Maintenance Fund

This fund was established to help cover ongoing maintenance costs for the upkeep of Camp Geiger properties. The principal of the fund is invested and the interest earned is used to help cover maintenance costs for the camp.

Learning for Life Trust Fund

This fund was established to help cover future registration and activity cost for the council's Learning for Life program. The principal is invested and all earnings are currently going back to the trust fund for growth.

Simon Rositzky Trust Fund

The goals and aims of this trust fund are generally the same as those of the Service Center Trust. The trust was established by Mr. Rositzky's daughters in memory of their father, a past Council President, Chieftain of the tribe of Mic-O-Say, and holder of the Silver Buffalo award, the only council member to have achieved that distinction.
