Camp Geiger Summer Camp 2015

If you are a Boy Scout or Scout Leader, we think you should consider Camp Geiger as the place for your summer camp experience this year. We know it will take little to convince Scout units in the Pony Express Council to come to Camp Geiger.

They have been doing so - willingly and enthusiastically - for over seventy years. They know that Geiger always meets or exceeds the expectations of their Scouts, leaders and parents. If you have already decided to come to Camp Geiger, we welcome you. You won't want to miss out on the fun, adventure and sense of independence and freedom that you will find in the rolling hills of Camp Geiger, situated on the Missouri River bluffs just north of Saint Joseph, Missouri.

One of the unique features of Geiger is flexibility. We provide over 50 program activities to provide Scouts many fun learning opportunities. This flexibility extends to the unit needs in providing the opportunity for their Scouts. Please check out the Getting Ready page for procedures to meet special needs such as check-in times and medical concerns.

Check out each of the links listed below for all the exciting activities we offer this summer. Scouts can be encouraged to visit this site to help develop their schedule for a great camp week. Everything you need for a great Geiger experience can be found here. You are welcome to print out the full color pages or click on the link for a text only .pdf to print for reference. To print copies only go to the Forms and Resources section and select the forms.

If you are looking for a summer camp or are new to the Geiger experience we suggest you start exploring at the Welcome page then move on by exploring the large number of program offered.

New and exciting programs are being developed for the 2015 camping season. The state of the art shooting sports area is one of the programs at camp as well as our COPE course with a 65 foot tower. Please check this page frequently as new features will be added as they are ready. Important updates are also posted in the Important Information for Unit Leaders (click on it below). Units have already turned in their reservation for 2015. Reservations can be made by contacting the council office.

Check out our newest COPE event, the Vertical Play Pen.

HINT: As you get ready for camp you may want to get to this page quickly without going through all the steps. Bookmark (add to Favorites) this page and come directly here to get ready for camp.

Camp Geiger is operated by the Pony Express Council, BSA and is accredited by the Central Region, BSA. The Boy Scout Resident Camp is Authorized to Operate for the maximum time allowed (5 Years) by the Central Region.

We really appreciate your consideration in early camp registration. It helps us plan for the next camping season.

Troops assigned to each week are only tentative and are subject to change. Troop projections will be checked against historic registration numbers to assure our ability to serve. Our goal is to promise a great experience for all scouts and troops.

Final assignments will be issued in mid-October. Troop requests will be given as much consideration as possible in the final assignments. Each troop will be notified of the final camping assignments. We look forward to seeing you at Camp Geiger next summer.
