Alumni Database Available Now
Bill Steele, National Director of Alumni Relations, and I are happy to announce the launch of the new alumni database on MyBSA. In the short time it has been operational, we’ve collected close to 11,000 names from people who reconnect through BSAalumni.org or designate themselves as alumni on their current MyScouting account.
Are they from your council? BSA staff with access to the 100th Anniversary administration page on MyBSA can view the names and contact information for alumni who have reconnected from your council. The list can be exported into a spreadsheet and shared as needed. The new database includes anyone who reconnected at the end of August 2009 forward. Data for those who reconnected between August 2007 and 2008 is available through Kintera Sphere.
Need help with your alumni outreach efforts? At Top Hands, we delivered a presentation on how to build a council alumni plan. That presentation, along with additional information about the new database, will be delivered via a Webinar this Wednesday, September 16 at 1 p.m. CST. If you haven’t yet, register today . Feel free to pass this invitation on to others who might benefit from this information.
This is an incredibly important resource, not just for the 100th Anniversary, but for the BSA on the whole. Imagine the impact if we could build relationships with even a portion of our 50 million alumni. This effort can benefit every council in America. Make sure you have an alumni outreach committee and plan in place.
The celebration has begun!
